Communication Arts, Humanities and Fine Arts Division, Room B213, (847) 543-2040https://www.clcillinois.edu/programs/comdv/dance Degree: Certificate Plan 23DA The 18 credit Yoga Teacher certificate program at CLC prepares students to teach yoga to adults and to register with Yoga Alliance as a 200-hour registered yoga teacher (RYT 200). Yoga Alliance is the nationally recognized organization that regulates yoga teaching standards. Students will deepen their understanding of yoga by studying the foundations of yogic practice, the history and philosophy of yoga, the science of human anatomy, and the teaching methodologies needed to teach yoga safely, ethically, and professionally. This program fulfills the credentials of the Yoga Alliance 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Registration. Upon completion of the CLC certificate, students may register online with Yoga Alliance for the RYT 200 designation. The Yoga Instructor Certificate is designed for entry level career paths in yoga, allowing instructors to teach level I and level II Hatha Yoga to groups and individuals. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses to meet required standards.
