Description
This course introduces students to theories and methods of teaching dance to children. The course will cover Illinois Arts Learning Standards/Dance Standards and focus on age-appropriate development in dance. Students will learn how to plan, manage, teach, and evaluate dance for children in studio, community, and elementary, middle, and high schools.Recommended: Student should have a foundation in one or more core dance techniques (i.e. ballet, contemporary, hip hop, tap, social, etc.) before taking this course.
