Description

This course (formerly WLD 178) covers the fundamental theory and practice of gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) in the flat and horizontal positions. A variety of material thickness and joint designs will be covered implementing single pass and multi-pass techniques. Students will learn to properly set up equipment and utilize various sub-features. Students will also learn to troubleshoot common problems and apply corrective measures. Welding of steel and its alloys is the primary focus. Note: Student must furnish basic required PPE.
